In a new video for her single “Give It Up to Me,” Latin songstress Shakira trades her signature hip-shaking for a hip-hop vibe. Applying Jamaican dancehall footwork, traditional Thai dancing and a technique called “stepping,” which mixes the footsteps and handclaps of African American fraternity and sorority culture, the “She Wolf” singer turns up the heat again.

She’s even called on hip-hop honcho Timbaland to produce the song and rapper Lil Wayne to make a guest appearance.
