From McKinley High School to Neverland!

Following the series finale of beloved Fox comedy Glee on Friday, Matthew Morrison is stepping away from the choir room and onto the stage as Peter Pan author J.M. Barrie in Broadway s newest production, Finding Neverland.

Tony Award nominee Morrison, 36, gave Good Morning America s Lara Spencer a first look at the show, which tells the story of the author Barrie’s inspiration for the beloved Peter Pan fairytale.

“I think for the fans of Peter Pan you get to see Tinkerbell, you get to see Peter Pan, and for the fans of the movie, there’s that amazing love story, that s in it as well,” Morrison told Spencer.

The musical, which is based on the Academy Award-winning Johnny Depp movie of the same name, also features Frasier star Kelsey Grammer as Captain Hook.

The show started previews on Monday, and opens on April 15 at New York City s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.

“At the end of the day this is a show about the power of the imagination,” said Morrison.
