Farrah Fawcett 'Doing Well' After Cancer Treatment

"The outlook is really good and her spirits are high," says the star's rep

Farrah Fawcett has completed chemotherapy and radiation treatment for cancer, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

“She’s doing well. The outlook is really good and her spirits are high,” says rep Mike Pingel of Fawcett, 59, who was diagnosed with anal cancer in September.

Though the Charlie’s Angel star has a “long recovery process” ahead of her, Pingel says, “she s looking forward to spending the holidays with her family.”

During Fawcett’s six-week treatment, “she didn’t lose much of anything – didn’t lose any weight, didn’t lose very much of her hair,” Pingel says.

Nor did she lose her resolve to reach out to fans who are also struggling with cancer. On her official website “she will be sharing her hair tips and other tips from throughout her treatment,” says Pingel. “She has a bracelet she created and she’s going to create more jewelry for the site. She’s keeping in contact with fans.”

One of her biggest fans, former longtime boyfriend Ryan O’Neal, tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue that since learning of her diagnosis, Fawcett has “been really extraordinary.”

So any extraordinary plans to celebrate this recent triumph in Fawcett s life? “Everyday,” says Pingel, “is a celebration.”
