The Rev. Jerry Falwell has apologized for saying last month that the anti-Christ is a Jewish man who probably is alive today. The Associated Press reports that during an appearance at the 18th International Christian Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday, Falwell said, “I apologize to my Jewish friends here and around the world, and I apologize to the Christians here for having created any kind of rift.” The breakfast was billed as a prayer for peace in Jerusalem and honored several Holocaust survivors. According to interpretations of the Bible, the anti-Christ will spread universal evil and threaten the destruction of the world before being finally conquered by the second coming of Christ.
