Ex-Driver Sues 'Puffy'

The former driver for Sean “Puffy” Combs, Wardel Fenderson, filed a $3 million lawsuit against his ex-boss yesterday, claiming that one of the rap mogul’s employees forced him to drive through 11 red lights after last December’s notorious nightclub shooting in New York’s Times Square. In his court papers, reports the Associated Press, Fenderson, 40, says that he collected Combs, singer-actress Jennifer Lopez and Combs’s bodyguard, Anthony “Wolf” Jones outside the club, where three people had been shot inside. (Rapper Jamal “Shyne” Barrow, 20, who had come to the club with Combs and Lopez, has been charged with attempted murder.) As Combs and the two others fled in Combs’s Lincoln Navigator, claims Fenderson, Jones grabbed the steering wheel and screamed at him “not to stop,” despite police demands to halt. When eventually the car did stop, a gun was allegedly found on the floor of the vehicle. Combs and Jones, who have been charged with bribery for allegedly offering Fenderson $50,000 and a diamond ring if he would say that the gun was his, are scheduled to go on trial in January.
