Lil Wayne is headed to prison Tuesday, but you’ll see more of him over the next year than you might expect.

The rapper, 27, had his incarceration on a weapons conviction postponed last month so he could have dental surgery – and he used the extra time to film nine music videos over a 48-hour period, Pop Eater reports.

To further ensure that he doesn’t fade from the spotlight, Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., plans to release his eighth studio album, Tha Carter IV, soon after he’s released in early 2011.

Wayne initially pleaded not guilty to gun possession in July 2007 after police found a .40-caliber handgun on his tour bus. But he changed his plea to guilty in October in exchange for a reduced 12-month sentence.

He recently took the long view of his ordeal, telling Rolling Stone: “I look at things as ‘Everything is meant to be.’ I know it’s an experience that I need to have if God’s putting me through it.”
