Evel Knievel has survived another brush with death, leaving the hospital 10 days after a successful liver transplant. The 60-year-old daredevil quietly left Tampa General Hospital this weekend for his home in nearby Clearwater. He hopes to talk with reporters this week, a spokeswoman said. Barring complications, he should be able to do about anything he used to in about five weeks, said Dr. Hector Ramos, one of his transplant surgeons. Knievel needed a liver transplant because of hepatitis C. The chances of reinfection are high, but the disease isn’t likely to destroy the organ this time, Dr. Ramos said.
