The costars reunite for a Q&A about their controversial film
The True Blood temptress and Reed reunited for an online Q&A for Thirteen‘s 10th anniversary. In between giggles and attempts at pig Latin, the costars answered Twitter questions about the controversial movie based on Reed’s troubled teen years. For example, were the tongue rings real? Reed’s was! When it came to whether Wood was crushing on her costar, she had this to say:
“I did have a crush on Nikki. I don t think I realized at the time that it was like a full-blown crush but I definitely remember having feelings and thinking she was so beautiful … I thought you were so gorgeous and fun and there was something about you. The relationships you have with girls when you re a teenager – there s a part of you that wants to be them, there s a part of you that kind of hates them, and there s a part of you that s kind of in love with them.”
Reed admitted to a similar breed of “girl crush” and said her onscreen makeout session with Wood was one of her first major lip locks.
Thirteen‘s unflinching look at teen drug use, sexual activity and self harm launched Wood’s and Reed’s careers, but their initial bond hasn’t aged a day.
