Eva Mendes Shares Her First Selfie to Help a Little Boy with Cancer
The actress posts the pic online and asks for donations to help 17-month-old Andrew Wilson Wratten
Eva Mendes waited a while to share her first selfie with the world. And in the end, it turned out to be quite selfless.
The actress, 41, posted the picture to Instagram on Wednesday as a way to raise money for a toddler named Andrew Wilson Wratten who is stricken with cancer. It’s a cause close to Mendes’s heart, of course, as her brother Carlos is also battling the disease.
“This is my first selfie and it’s for an amazing cause!” she wrote. “Thank you all so much for helping support Andrew Wilson and his family Together let’s help this family get their son the proper treatment that he needs.”
The Lost River star, who has a 9-month-old daughter with Ryan Gosling, also posted a photo of 17-month-old Andrew to Instagram and to her Facebook page. In her selfie, she is wearing a T-shirt that reads, “Hope and prayers for Andrew Wilson.” She is promising to give the shirt to one person who makes a donation by clicking here in the next 48 hours.
“This little guy, Andrew Wilson Wratten, is full of smiles, a ball of energy and VERY special to me,” she wrote next to the photos of him. “He has been undergoing treatment for neuroblastoma cancer. His family has spent the last year going through every parent’s worst nightmare as they watch their little boy endure grueling treatment and they need our help.”
