Estefan The Author

Pop diva Gloria Estefan has written a book about the person who had the greatest influence on her music: her maternal grandmother. In a compilation entitled “The Person Who Changed My Life: Prominent Americans Recall Their Mentors,” Estefan writes of Consuela Garcia: “I studied psychology, communications, and languages, but she repeatedly told me that I would be happiest doing something I loved.” Proceeds from the book, the introduction to which was written by Hillary Rodham Clinton, are to benefit Mentoring USA, which matches adult volunteers with at-risk children.
