We’re big fans of robots here at PEOPLE, but we’ve now finally encountered one we think we could party with.

Empire Robotics brings us Versaball, and what it lacks in name verve, it makes up for in game.

Air pumped into the soft green ball at the end of the robot’s “arm” tightens or loosens its grip on a ball, which also lets it launch the ball with startling accuracy. Add an unwashed baseball cap and and aura of soused benevolence, and you’ve basically got the host of every frat party some of us knew in college.

Cool Robot is here to tell you: 2015 is the future, and the future is going to be cool.

Empire is presenting Versaball at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, Jan. 6-9 in Las Vegas, and visitors are encouraged to play against it.
