People.com Celebrity We're Giving Out Style Superlatives for Our Favorite TV Characters From best hair to best style to most in need of a makeover, see which TV ladies earned our top honors this year By Adeline Duff Published on September 17, 2015 12:20 PM Share Tweet Pin Email 01 of 10 Best Style David Giesbrecht for Netflix Claire Underwood, House of CardsWithout a doubt, Claire Underwood has the best style on TV right now. Her businesswoman looks are always perfectly put together and fit to perfection (it helps that her real-life alter ego Robin Wright is ridiculously in-shape). But Claire’s impeccable taste doesn’t stop at ball gowns and pencil skirts – even when she’s going for a run, her all black attire gives us some serious athleisure inspiration. 02 of 10 Best Hair Helen Sloan/HBO Cersei Lannister, Game of ThronesShe was tress-and-tress with Mad Men's Betty Draper, but Cersei Lannister’s (played by Lena Headey) gorgeous golden locks ended up taking the crown. Whether she’s sporting her impossibly perfect signature waves or intricate braided up-dos, Cersei’s hair is always on point. After all, would you expect anything less from the Queen Regent of the Seven Kingdoms? 03 of 10 Worst Makeup FX Elsa Mars, American Horror Story: Freak ShowWhile Jessica Lange is truly stunning, her character Elsa Mars' stage makeup in American Horror Story was potentially one of the most frightening aspects of the (already scary) show. Caked-on foundation, bright blue eye shadow, red lips and waaay too much blush – it’s enough to give a beauty fanatic nightmares (never mind Twisty the clown.) And please, let’s not even discuss those drawn on, barely there eyebrows. 04 of 10 Most In Need of a Makeover PBS Anna Bates, Downton AbbeyThere’s no one sweeter or more compassionate on Downton Abbey than lady's maid Anna Bates (played by Joanna Froggatt), but for some reason she seems to be the character who's always suffering. Between all of her time spent downstairs at the estate and the stress that comes with being thrown in jail for a crime she didn’t commit, Anna could use a new outlook on life – and on her wardrobe. Maybe this season Lady Mary will take her to London for a new dress – and a new do. 05 of 10 Sexiest Style FOX Cookie Lyons, EmpireWhen it comes to personal style, Cookie Lyons doesn’t care what anybody thinks – and it’s that type of confidence that allows her to somehow pull off some seriously sexy looks, whether it be a skintight leopard mini or a plunging white jumpsuit. While she may have made some questionable choices in the past (magenta fur is hard for anyone to master), the woman knows how to seriously rock an evening gown. 06 of 10 Best Eyebrows Helen Sloan/HBO Daenarys Targaryen, Game of ThronesMother of Dragons, Breaker of Chains, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea – the list goes on and on when it comes to Daenarys Stormborn's many titles. One title she doesn’t hold – yet – is Queen of the Fiercest Eyebrows on TV. Not only are they enviably full, but the gorgeous Emilia Clarke somehow manages to pull of the dark-brow-platinum-blonde look with exceptional ease. 07 of 10 Most In Need of a Spa Day David Bloomer/Showtime Carrie Mathison, HomelandOh, Carrie Mathison (played by Claire Danes). We couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of a serious spa day (or a spa weekend, or why not just a full on wellness retreat?). A normal day in the life of Ms. Mathison involves chasing down terrorists, being drugged with hallucinogens, or nearly getting killed in a street riot. Carrie is almost always worn out and on the verge of a mental breakdown, so we think it’s time the CIA splurges on a gift certificate for their most dedicated Station Chief. 08 of 10 Most On-Trend Courtesy AMC Megan Draper, Mad MenWhile most of the Mad ladies are always impeccably dressed, Megan Draper (played by Jessica Paré) raised the bar this past season with her trendy looks. Her fashion choices are a memorable mix of late-'60s and early-'70s style (as an actress, she's always embraced the then-hottest styles of the moment) and some are so cute we'd wear them today. She gets bonus points for the hair and winged liner. 09 of 10 Best Accessories HBO Selina Meyer, VeepShe may be President of the United States, but that doesn’t mean she can’t have some fun with her wardrobe. Almost always rocking a statement necklace, Selina (played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus) keeps her style streamlined and her power accessories, well, statement-y. With brooches, rings, earrings, bellts and a whole lot of pearls, Selina takes the title ofthe most fashionable politician in (fictional) U.S. history. 10 of 10 Most Playful Style John P. Fleenor/FOX Mindy Lahiri, The Mindy ProjectWhile Mindy Kaling may not be nominated for an Emmy this year (sad face), her amazing style team was. Dr. Mindy Lahiri is not afraid when it comes to color or accessorizing. Whether she’s experimenting with bright scarves, daring patterns or Blair Waldorf-esque headbands, the soon-to-be-(onscreen)-mom is definitely the most fashionable OB/GYN we’ve ever seen.
