BEST OVERALL: LADY GAGA
And the most glam award of the night goes to… Gaga! The star went unexpectedly understated with a little help from her glam squad to create a soft, neutral makeup look. Sarah Nicole Tanno used Marc Jacobs Beauty’s lip pencil in “Prim(rose)” and sheer lip gel in “Understudy 114” for her light pink lip, and stylist Frederic Aspiras used Matrix products for her “Grace Kelly elegance” do, thanks to hair stylist Frederic Aspiras for Matrix.
BEST GLOW: JANUARY JONES
Looks like the time away from Mad Men has been great for January’s tan. Her fresh face was perfected by Chanel makeup artist Rachel Goodwin, who sculpted the star’s cheekbones using the brand’s Healthy Glow Sheer Colour SPF 15 powder compact in No. 30, topped with a hint of color courtesy of its creamy Healthy Glow Sheer Color Stick in No. 22. The combo definitely deems her worthy of taking home our sun goddess-inspired superlative.
BEST SMOKY EYE: TARAJI P. HENSON
Ladies, we’ve found your new date-night makeup look: Taraji’s smoky
purple shadow! The Empire star went sultry with a mauve-hued shimmery smoky eye, created by makeup artist Ashunta using L’Oréal Paris’s Infallible Eyeshadow in “Smoldering Plum.” It was the perfect glam look to pair with her brand-new blunt bob, done by celebrity hairstylist Kim Kimble.
BEST OMBRé: AMY POEHLER
BEST RED LIP: TAYLOR SCHILLING
Our favorite red carpet accessory? A bright, bold lip! And tonight’s top winner? The Orange Is the New Black star, who stepped out wearing the prettiest red-orange matte lip shade to pop against her asymmetrical sunshine yellow dress.
BEST CURLS: TRACEE ELLIS ROSS
Tracee’s exuberant ringlets are one of our favorite looks of the night – and we’re going to be refreshing her hair blog all morning for the how-to.
BEST PONYTAIL: TATIANA MASLANY
She may wear a lot of hats – er, wigs – on Orphan Black, but we’re pretty partial to Tatiana’s sleek, slicked-back ponytail she wore on the arrivals red carpet.
MOST ACCESSORIZED UPDO: JULIANNE HOUGH
To complement the star’s sexy straight-from-the-runway Marchesa creation, her hair stylist Riawna Capri for Clear Scalp amp Hair, needed just the right hair accessory. Which is why Capri wove a black velvet ribbon and a Neil Lane brooch into the star’s updo at the last minute. “We opted for a slightly disheveled look with a little edge that worked seamlessly with the black lace and elaborate details of the dress,” she said.
MOST DRAMATIC: MINDY KALING
Looks like Mindy is ready for the new season! The Mindy Project star stepped out wearing a vampy wine-hued lip – one of the biggest trends for fall – paired with her tangerine-colored dress on the red carpet. No one does color better than Mindy, and that applies to her makeup too.
MOST ON-POINT MANICURE: CHRISTINA HENDRICKS
What do you pair with a gorgeous intricately beaded Naeem Khan design? An equally intricate manicure, of course! Just ask Christina, who stepped out with the most memorable mani of the night: a black-and-gold striped nail job.
