Emma Watson was all smiles on Wednesday as she met Noma Dumezweni, the woman taking over her role as the beloved Harry Potter character Hermione Granger in the stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. “It was SO lovely to meet you @MissDumezweni #Hermiones,” Watson, 26, captioned a Twitter photo of Dumezweni holding her face. The two apparently met backstage after Wednesday’s performance, which Watson called “AMAZING” in a Facebook post. “Having seen it I felt more connected to Hermione and the stories than I have since Deathly Hallows came out, which was such a gift,” Watson wrote. “Meeting Noma and seeing her on stage was like meeting my older self and have her tell me everything was going to be alright, which as you can imagine was immensely comforting (and emotional)!” Dumezweni uploaded a photo of the meeting to her own Twitter, showing herself and Watson sharing a hug. “3. Blessings Dear @EmWatson and Thank You!” Dumezweni captioned the picture. However, Watson tweeted her approval of the new Hermione, writing, “Can’t wait to see Noma Dumezweni as Hermione on stage this year.”
