Elton John has persuaded the Spice Girls, Sting and Janet Jackson to sing on the CD of his re-working of Verdi’s opera “Aida,” which he and lyricist Tim Rice are putting together as a stage production for Disney. “I wanted to get the Spice Girls involved, because I think they’ve got a lot of humor about them. And I love seeing them perform live,” Elton told Britain’s Sun tabloid on Thursday. The veteran rocker plans to sing two duets on the album, one with Janet Jackson and another with LeAnn Rimes. Going solo will be Sting, who “is going to record a song called ‘Another Pyramid,’ which will be done in a reggae style,” said Elton.
