Hey Parents, One Celeb Has Your Elf on the Shelf Game Beat
MOM ON A MISSION
"LET THE ELF GAMES BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!" Busy Philipps posts to Instagram on Dec. 2. And boy, have they begun. The mom of two, who floored us with her awesome Elf on the Shelf creativity last year, is at it again this season, delighting daughters Cricket, 17 months, and Birdie, 6, with all sorts of antics. First up? Small gifts from the elves (they were a day late in arriving to the star's home, whoops!) and one very apologetic note.
HAVE YOUR CAKE …
… only if you can bake it! The elves cause a little mischief later on Dec. 2, breaking into Mom's "good cake flour."
The creative juices keep flowing on Dec. 5, as the elves leave the girls a note in faux snow and play them to sleep with a song.
COME FLY WITH ME
Houston, we have a problem: "The elves decided to fly a plane thru our stairwell tonight!" Philipps writes on Dec. 6.
Dec. 8 brings the "elf races" in the Cougar Town star's kitchen. We wonder who won – though honestly, Instagram followers are the real winners in this whole scenario.
A DRESS TO IMPRESS
Dec. 10's set-up – cute cookies! – comes with a lot more than a little sugar. "How do we help kids to believe in magic for as long as possible? How do we help ourselves keep magic in our lives? I know it seems dumb to some people or too much. But I love these elves. I love the look on Birdie's face every morning. And I just hope that even after she has an understanding of what's REAL, she will still believe in magic," the loving mom writes.
HIP TO IT
These elves are so modern! "Last night, the elves took a 'sELFie' with Birdie while she was sleeping and then put it on our chalkboard. They tried to take one with Cricket but she kept waking up so they abandoned that idea," Philipps shares on Dec. 11.
ON THE MOVE
Cue the theme song: "There's some Mission Impossible Elf happening tonight," Philipps writes on Dec. 17 as the elves get into spy mode.
Philipps keeps things decidedly simple on Friday night, Dec. 19. "The elves decided to take it easy last night and curl up with some good books," she writes.
UP IN THE AIR
But Dec. 20 brings something extra-special: a hot air balloon ride!
SACK IT TO ME
"Elves had sack races last night," Philipps shares on Dec. 22. "Birdie pointed out this morning that the girl elf always wins, which is true."
With Christmas getting closer, the elves kick it into high gear on the night of Dec. 22, going sledding on "our cozy blankets in the playroom." Wheee!
The elves' Dec. 22 adventures look slightly dangerous! "I forgot to post what the elves were up to last night," Philipps writes. "They took a tumble in our dryer! Looked like fun, too …"
