Ed Sheeran Wears a Red Coat to Taylor Swift's Fourth of July Party Because 'He Can't Let It Go'

It’s been 239 years since the U.S. declared its independence from the British – but to some pop-rockers, it apparently still feels like yesterday.

We kid, but so did Ed Sheeran when he turned up after Taylor Swift‘s pretty spectacular July Fourth party in a pretty spectacular red coat. (Get it?)

Swift, a close friend, posted the resulting “confrontation,” complete with flag-waving, on Instagram with this caption: “When Ed shows up in a red coat for the 4th of July because he just can’t let it go.”

Not pictured was the resulting treaty, though it’s safe to say that tea was probably not dumped into any nearby bodies of water and everyone probably went back to their flamingo floaties.
