The Duggars' Musings on Motherhood
IT'S OKAY TO ASK QUESTIONS
"There are a lot of things that seem different than I thought they would be," new mom Jill Dillard shares. "I have just asked my mom a lot of questions about what is normal and what to expect."
SLEEP IS PRECIOUS
"Try to get a nap in when the baby takes a nap, especially while you're breastfeeding the baby," Duggar matriarch Michelle shares. "You can see everything that needs to be done around the house. You need to catch up on laundry; you need to do some cleaning; you want to do some ironing – whatever. But just take that break and sleep, even if it's just an hour while the baby is sleeping."
APPRECIATE THE LITTLE THINGS
"[Babies] pretty much eat and sleep, and they're just not awake for a whole lot of time," Michelle says of little ones like Josie and Jordyn-Grace, pictured. "Take lots of pictures and make a lot of sweet memories of that special time."
DON'T BE AFRAID TO SAY NO
"Sometimes you have to tell them 'no,'" Michelle says of dealing with kids. "And sometimes they have to take 'no' for an answer, and still love and honor mama and daddy in that way."
JUST LOVE 'EM
"Love those children," Michelle says. "And as they're growing, just continually encourage them in love to be all God wants them to be. The whole motivation is love."
