Celebrity Drew Vision: Five Things to Know About the Rising Star Drew Vision just released his third studio album, The Balance, and his newest music video "Sanctify" By Nicole Sands Published on August 12, 2016 12:45 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Toni Smailagic He’s danced with Beyoncé and jammed with Justin Timberlake, but Drew Vision is ready for his own spotlight. The triple threat – who performed at Essence Fest this year – is currently working on international collaborations in London, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Mexico and Colombia, and will embark on a college campus tour this fall. Here are five things you to know about the rising star, who just released the music video for his newest single, “Sanctify,” off his third studio album The Balance: 1. He can sing in multiple languages. Vision attended Five Towns College on Long Island, New York on a full scholarship, and he studied all kinds of music in many different languages. “Part of my requirement was to take all these different classes like harmony and other languages. I would learn and sing Latin, Hebrew, Italian and German in certain songs,” Vision tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I know what I’m singing, and I really dive into it and practice all the pronunciations.” Vision recently learned a song in Spanish in “one or two days,” he adds. “At bar mitzvahs, they’re just looking at me like, ‘How does he know this?'” 2. He was covering a Timberlake tune on stage at a wedding that the superstar just happened to be at. And yep, the legend jumped on stage with him to rock out. “I always sing Justin Timberlake – it’s fun for me and I’m a fan,” says Vision, who was performing at the wedding of one of Jessica Biel‘s close friends. “I like to sing ‘Sexy Back’ and a couple other ones.” “[Justin] was like, ‘Do you know ‘Senorita?’ He hopped on the piano and I was grabbing the mic like ready to go because I knew all the words, and then we did a bunch of songs after that.” 3. He received some of the best advice he’s ever gotten from Beyoncé’s mom. Vision starred as one of the groomsmen in Beyoncé’s "Best Thing I Never Had" music video, and that’s where Queen Bey’s mom gave him some words of wisdom he’ll never forget. “Miss Tina Knowles came up to me on set and was like, ‘Who are you? How did you get here? I didn’t see you in the castings,’ which means she was really involved in this video,” says Vision. “She was like, ‘You have star power. I don’t know if you’re a musician,’ and I was like, ‘I am a musician.’ And she’s like, ‘I can tell. Just keep doing what you’re doing because you’re doing all the right things.'” 4. He can strike a hot pose, too! Aside from singing his heart out, Vision has had a successful modeling career thus far and has been featured in campaigns for Pepsi, Lays, Coach, Samsung, LG and more. “I’m on this Lays Potato Chips commercial and people are recognizing me from that because it plays in other countries like Sweden, too,” says Vision. 5. Ever heard of an Irish triplet? Well, he’s one of those, and all his siblings are talented. Vision has two younger (and very musically inclined) twin sisters, Adrina and Adora, who were born just a little more than a year after him. “We’re all freakishly close, too, and they do music, but they’re more pop artists,” says Vision about his sisters, who think collaborating with their brother would be “corny.” Vision grew up supporting his mother and his two sisters in every way he possibly could. “My dad was away and then he came back after 10 years and he wanted to be in our lives,” says Vision. “He’s stayed around … . and comes to my shows and is always posting my stuff on his social media.” “My mom is no saint either,” he jokes. “When she comes to my events, she loves to go to the bar and just party and say, ‘That’s my son!'” Vision’s album The Balance is now available on iTunes.
