Drake and Rihanna Pen Sweet Tributes to Loyal Fan Who Died of Cancer: 'I Am Blessed to Have Known You'
Earlier this year, the Make-A-Wish Foundation arranged for Megan Flores to meet her favorite singer, Drake.
Flores, whose body stopped responding to cancer treatments in March, met with Rihanna as well, and both stars ended up keeping in contact with Flores through Instagram. Drake dedicated his most recent album, Views, to Flores; the credits to the album read, “This body of work is dedicated to Megan Flores. I pray for your wellbeing every day.”
Flores, 14, passed away Saturday from progressive metastasized sarcoma, and both Drake and Rihanna posted their own tributes to the girl on social media.
“Rest in peace my angel,” the rapper and singer wrote. “I know heaven is celebrating today. Thank you for the moments and emotions we share I am blessed to have known you in this lifetime.”
“It’s heavy news that I can’t slide in your DMs anymore like I used to,” Rihanna wrote. “There was always a smile waiting for me there! You brightened any day! Rest up baby girl! We will miss you!!”
