Dr. Death Acts 'Nice'

Steve Williams — pro wrestling’s “Dr. Death” — made a favorable impression on U.S. marshals in Shreveport, La., while in court to face child support charges. “He’s a nice guy, absolutely a gentleman,” Deputy Marshal Karla Cooper told the Associated Press. “He signed a lot of autographs for courthouse employees.” Williams, who lives in nearby Benton, appeared Wednesday on charges he failed to pay a lump sum of $18,000 and monthly child support payments of $811 ordered in 1995 by an Oklahoma court. Williams’s attorney, James Fortson, said his client never married the child’s mother and denies the paternity claim.
