Donny and Marie Osmond’s father, George Osmond, died Tuesday morning at age 90.

Entertainment Tonight first reported the news, and said Donny Osmond, 49, was on the ET set Tuesday morning when he found out about his loss.

George and his wife Olive, who hailed from Ogden, Utah, had nine children in their showbiz family – Donny, Marie, Alan, Jay, Jimmy, Merrill, Wayne, Tom and Virl.

Alan, Jay, Merrill, Wayne, and Donny went on to become members of the singing group The Osmonds. Marie, now 48, had a successful singing career of her own, and is currently a celebrity contestant on the fifth season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

Olive Osmond, the family matriarch, died in 2004.

Oprah Winfrey was set to host a big Osmond family reunion on her talk show this Friday. It was unclear how George’s death will affect those plans.
