Celebrity Donald Trump's Walk of Fame Star Is Being Vandalized – A Lot Donald Trump's critics have spoken – and graffitied By Tierney McAfee Published on April 5, 2016 02:10 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Chip Somodevilla/Getty A swastika, a mute symbol and dog feces are just a few examples of the marks that have been made on Donald Trump‘s star on the Walk of Fame in recent months. The GOP front-runner’s famous red tile, which he received in 2007 for his work on the reality competition series The Apprentice, is regularly defaced with spray paint and graffiti, and has even been urinated on and defecated on by some detractors – including one overzealous canine. The routine acts of vandalism sparked a report that the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce was considering removing the controversial candidate’s star, but the organization’s president, Leron Gubler, tells PEOPLE in a statement that rumor is false. “The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a registered historic landmark,” he says. “Once a star has been added to the Walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Because of this, we have never removed a star from the Walk.” The Chamber has not incurred additional costs by having to routinely clean Trump’s star, Entertainment Weekly reports. https://twitter.com/So2012Trust/status/713270244643631104 Mindy Herrera and her teenage children made it a point to find Trump’s star during a visit to L.A. on Monday, she tells the Los Angeles Times. “We’re Hispanic, so we don’t like him, obviously,” she says. When they finally found the star, her 15-year-old son bent down and wrapped his hands around Trump’s name while his mother snapped a photo. “Like he was wringing his neck,” she chuckles. The gesture was pretty tame compared to others, according to Francisco Javier, a local who patrols the Walk in a Superman costume: “Bad signs, bad words,” Francisco Javier told the Times of people’s reactions to Trump’s star. “Every day people get mad at him.”
