Trump Rising: Republican Surges in New Polls to Tie with Hillary Clinton
Donald Trump is gaining on Hillary Clinton in a new Washington Post and ABC News poll
According to the poll, Trump is favored 46 percent to Clinton’s 44 percent – an 11-point change for the billionaire businessman since March. Clinton, however, still holds a six-point lead over Trump among adults, within the margin of error.

Both candidates hold a net negative rating among registered voters, with Clinton at -16, and Trump trailing at -17. Six in 10 voters told the Washington Post and ABC News that they have negative impressions of both Clinton and Trump.
In a Wall Street Journal and NBC News poll, conducted May 15-19, Trump actually trails Clinton – but only by 3.1 percent. In April, Clinton held the advantage over Trump by 11 points.
Clinton slammed Trump over the weekend, asserting that the mogul’s reluctance to release his tax returns is “a big problem.”
“If you ve got someone running for president who’s afraid to release his tax returns because it will expose the fact that he pays no federal income tax, I think that s a big problem,” Clinton told NBC’s Chuck Todd.
According to the Post poll, six in 10 independents believe Trump should release his taxes, and almost all of them say they feel strongly about it. Even 44 percent of Republicans want the billionaire to release his returns before the November election, though they are less passionate.
