A medical inquiry ordered by the Paris judge investigating the crash that killed Princess Diana shows she was doomed from the start because of the severity of her injuries, a judicial source told the Associated Press Wednesday. In a 10-page report sent to Judge Herve Stephan, a medical expert said that a torn pulmonary vein — Diana’s main wound — “is regularly fatal,” regardless of the medical care that is given. “The care administered conformed to current medical knowledge,” said the expert, Dr. Dominique Lecomte, head of the Medical-Legal Institute of Paris.
