Dermot Mulroney & Catherine Keener Finalize Divorce
The two actors, separated for the past two years, cite irreconcilable differences
It’s official: After more than two years of separation, Dermot Mulroney and Catherine Keener have finalized their divorce.
According to court documents obtained by Extra, “There are irreconcilable differences between the parties that have led to the irredeemable breakdown of the marriage, and there is no possibility of saving the marriage, through counseling or other means.”
The two actors – who wed in 1990 and have one son, Clyde Keener Mulroney, 8 – split in May 2005. Neither party will pay child or spousal support when the union formally dissolves Dec. 17.
Keener, 48, a two-time Best Supporting Actress Oscar nominee (Being John Malkovich, Capote), scored a major hit with last year’s The 40-Year-Old Virgin.
Mulroney, who turned 44 on Oct. 31, filed for divorce in June. He most recently starred with Lindsay Lohan in Georgia Rule.
He’s also made the romantic comedy rounds, appearing in The Wedding Date, Must Love Dogs and My Best Friend’s Wedding.
