DENVER DEATH CAUSE

Singer John Denver’s failure to refuel his experimental aircraft plus a lack of training were key factors in the 1997 crash that killed the entertainer, safety investigators said Tuesday. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said Denver was probably diverted from controlling the plane while attempting to manipulate a hard-to-reach handle controlling fuel flow. The plane plunged into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California.
