Just days after Charlie Sheen unleashed a brutal attack on Twitter against Denise Richards, the mom of three responded with some fighting words of her own for Sheen’s rep Jeff Ballard.

“Jeff I think you had way too much to drink @jeffballardpr & lost your memory dude. Zip It,” Richards Tweeted at Ballard on Tuesday.

Ballard released a statement to PEOPLE on Monday explaining Sheen’s comments calling Richards a “shake down piece of s— doosh phace & worse mom alive.”

“Charlie was upset and chose to express his displeasure through his Twitter rant,” Ballard said after claiming his client was upset that Richards declined his invitation to spend Father’s Day in Mexico along with their two daughters Sam, 11, and Lola, 10.

But a source close to Richards says that simply isn’t the case.

“Charlie hasn’t seen his daughters in about two months,” the source says. “And he had no plans to be in town for Father’s Day. There was no invite for Denise or the kids for them to join him in Mexico.”

Ballard has not commented on Richards’ Tweet.

While Sheen is no stranger to speaking his mind, Richards is taking a different approach when it comes to her ex-husband.

“Denise is doing her best to take the high road,” the source continues. “Her number one concern is her children. She knows that they are at the age where they could become aware of anything being said or written about them or their family, and she’s trying to protect them.”

No matter what happens in the future between the stars, Sheen will continue to share his feelings publicly.

Charlie doesn’t live in Regretville,” Ballard said. “He doesn’t make excuses, and when he voices his displeasure he’s honest.”
