It’s a new start for Demi Moore.

Just five weeks ago, the 49-year-old actress hit rock bottom when she was hospitalized after collapsing into convulsions at her L.A. home. After subsequently entering treatment at an undisclosed location, Moore is now ready to begin her life anew.

“Demi is in a much better place,” an insider tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “She has been working on herself a lot.”

She has also taken time out to relax, recently returning from an island getaway with friends. (Contrary to reports, a source confirms to PEOPLE that the actress was not vacationing on Parrot Cay, where she has been a frequent visitor in the past.)

Now quietly ensconced back at home, “she is content,” says a close source.
