Demi Lovato is mourning the loss of her friend Chris Carney.

The former Disney Channel star – who starred in Sonny With a Chance with Carney’s widow Tiffany Thornton – expressed her condolences in an emotional post on social media Friday.

Carney was killed in a car accident in Arkansas. He was 35.

“Been trying to figure out what to say all day… This morning I woke up to terrible news. My good friend Chris Carney has passed away,” Lovato, 23, wrote.

The singer also shared a touching photo from Thornton and Carney’s 2011 wedding, in which Lovato served as a bridesmaid and boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama was a guest.

“This picture is a perfect example of the love he shared with Tiff and how much fun he was to be around,” she continued. “I’ve been to many weddings but this is by far the most memorable because the way they looked into each other’s eyes and the love they had for one another. There were tons of laughs and tons of tears and I’ll never forget the way he looked at her.”

Carney was the passenger in a vehicle driven by his friend, 37-year-old Ezekiel Blanton, who was also killed. State police said Blanton was driving the vehicle on I-70 early Friday morning when he failed to negotiate a curve, over-corrected and collided with a tree, according to local CBS affiliate KTHV.

Added Lovato, “It doesn’t seem real and I’m still in shock.. Still speechless. I don’t know how to put into words how heartbroken I am for Tiffany and their two baby boys. You’re already missed Chris.. And Tiffany I love you so much.. I’m so unbelievably sorry… There are still no words.”

Thornton, 29, and Carney had two sons together Kenneth, 3, and Bentley, 2.

Lovato also shared a link to a GoFundMe page “for those who would like to help the family at this time.”
