It’s a new year, and Demi Lovato says she’s embracing new things about herself.

“I think over this next year you all are going to watch me evolve into a new person,” the Disney Channel starlet writes on her MySpace Celebrity blog.

Just think of the changes as part her growing-up.

“No I’m not ‘changing’ like I promised I wouldn’t in LA LA LAND,” Lovato, 16, clarifies. “But I’m growing. Besides teenagers change a million times before they truly find themselves and I’m really beginning to find out more about myself each day.”

She continues: “So don’t be scared if I start to wear less black or eye-makeup … I’m not changing – just maturing.”

Also new: Lovato’s long-awaited Disney Channel show Sonny with a Chance premieres on Feb. 8.

As she looks forward to the show’s launch, Lovato says she’s grateful for the support of her fans.

“Just thinking about the opportunities alone that I’ve been blessed with this year puts a huge smile on my face,” she writes. “I have an incredible group of new (and “old”) friends, my family and I have a stronger bond than ever before, and i’m really growing as a person.”
