Happy Birthday, Twitter. Let's Celebrate with 10 Deleted Celeb Tweets
In 2013, Bynes Tweeted out a photo of Jay Z, seemingly apropos of nothing, along with a mean caption: Ugly face.
Ashton Kutcher took a decisive stance against the firing of Joe Paterno after the 2011 Penn State sex-abuse scandal: "How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste." After major backlash, he took it down and added, "As an advocate in the fight against child sexual exploitation, I could not be more remorseful for all involved in the Penn St. case."
The Kardashian bro went on an emotional outburst, calling out Rita Ora (#RitaWhora started trending after his 2014 rampage.) "She cheated on me with nearly 20 dudes while we were together," he wrote. "I wonder how many she will sleep with now that we apart? But I mean 20?!!!"
If you don't want to talk about something, you shouldn't Tweet about it. In 2012, Chung learned that lesson after Tweeting, "Woah I just had a strange (sexy) Karl Lagerfeld dream. I don't want to talk about it." Hours later, Chung deleted the message, likely realizing that sex dreams happen alone in bed for a reason.
We've all been there (or at least we have moms who have been there). Denise Richards thought she was DMing a friend her phone number when she accidentally Tweeted it to the world in 2009. She took it down and followed it with, "Ok, number is changed!! won't make that mistake again!"
When a Tweet is this bad, you don't just delete the Tweet, you delete the whole account. Last year, CeeLo Green shared, "if someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH implies consent. People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!" (After a hiatus, he's back, but steering clear of that topic.)
In 2012, responding to a Twitter follower who urged him to release new music ("Release the album or get shot again"), Fiddy shot back, "yeah i just saw your picture fool you look autistic." He later apologized and admitted that many of his Tweets are penned for shock value.
When the wrestling personality Tweeted a revealing pic of his daughter, Brooke, in 2013, followers freaked out and he responded by removing it.
KATY & RUSSELL
After a whirlwind marriage in 2010, Perry and Brand – who the singer says texted her to say he was filing for divorce – split in 2011. But Perry is staying positive. "I don't like to live in fear because that traps you and your voices," she said. "Fear is a control tactic in the world that is negative and depressing, and I don't want to be associated with it."
