David Beckham‘s first season with the L.A. Galaxy may have been a disappointment – but he’s got big plans for 2008.

In his latest blog entry, the soccer star and underwear model describes his punishing regime as he prepares for his second season, which begins in March.

“I’ve been continuing my training at Arsenal’s London Colney ground,” he writes of his time spent at the training facility for one of England’s top professional soccer teams. “I’ve been doing some work with the squad as well as plenty of gym work to build up my fitness in advance of the new season.”

The Spice Boy previously blogged about his health woes, writing in December: “Unfortunately, the year didn’t pass without a few injuries and I didn’t play as much as I wanted to, plus we just missed out on the playoffs, but we’ve a good team and I feel I’ve settled in well.”

There’s certainly a lot riding on the 32-year-old’s performance: In January 2007, he inked a five-year deal with L.A. Galaxy that is worth up to $250 million with endorsements.

Think you can bend it like Beckham? Give it a go at the Galaxy’s open tryout Feb. 9 to 12 at The Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, open to all male players 18 or older.
