David Arquette was injured in a car accident in Beverly Hills on Friday.

The actor is “fine,” but was taken to an L.A.-area hospital, his rep tells PEOPLE.

Arquette’s car reportedly veered into oncoming traffic while he was trying to avoid another car that stopped suddenly, reports.

The drivers were the only occupants of the cars, and both were transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.

There were no other injuries reported and the accident, which happened at 2:09 p.m., is being investigated.

According to TMZ, the actor, 39, was driving a silver Cadillac when he swerved and went head-on into a car coming from the opposite direction.

Photographs showed the actor, clad in a white shirt, lying on the ground next to a smashed car.

Fire trucks were reportedly dispatched to the scene, and Arquette, who separated from wife Courteney Cox last year and who recently completed rehab, was put into an ambulance.
