At the Los Angeles premiere Thursday for Martin Lawrence’s new comedy, “Black Knight,” stars still shaken from recent distressing events agreed that films like this are needed now, reports PEOPLE. Austin Peck of “Days of Our Lives” said, “After everything that’s going on in the world right now, I think you need a laugh and Martin is pretty good at doing that.” Added Tyler Mane, the 6’10” actor who played Sabretooth in “X-Men,” “I’m a big Martin Lawrence fan and I want to do a little laughing.” Jim Belushi, however, wasn’t seeking solace. He showed up, he said, because “Martin Lawrence is . . . funny, period.” Good enough. Lawrence’s costar, Marsha Thomason, who hails from Manchester, England, allowed that simply making the movie with the comedian was a kick in the pants. “He’s always making jokes and messing around.”
