Cheryl Hines, who was nominated for an Emmy this year for her work on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” is pregnant with her first child and has a due date of March 9, PEOPLE has learned.

Hines, 38, and her husband since December 2000, Paul Young, have not announced the sex of the child.

On the small screen, Hines picked up a supporting actress nomination for her role on HBO’s hit comedy, in which she plays the wife of “Seinfeld” co-creator Larry David. Besides her work on “Curb,” the Tallahassee native is at work voicing the female lead for NBC’s fall 2004 CGI animated series, “Father of the Pride.”

The series is a “Shrek”-like prime-time cartoon about a family of white lions who work as performers in the Las Vegas act of illusionists Siegfried & Roy. (In spite of the recent tragedy involving Roy Horn, the series will continue production.)

Hines plays Kate, the wife of John Goodman’s character Larry, who is the hardworking papa lion. Carl Reiner also lends his voice.
