It's a three-alarm Mission! Tom Cruise starts his marathon afternoon around 3 p.m. – traveling by land, sea and air Wednesday to premiere Mission: Impossible III in New York City – by hitching a ride on a fire truck outside MTV's TRL studio amid hundreds of fans. "I asked him for a hug, and he gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek!" said Shanna Deen, one of about 200 teenage fans waiting for Cruise at his downtown premiere, the second of the day. After sharing the love, Cruise races off in a Saleen Mustang S281 Extreme sports car.
Cruise shows off his moves to BET's 106 amp Park host Julissa at the Magic Johnson Theater. Before heading inside, he signed autographs – including a fan's sneaker – as gawkers shouted, "We want Tom!" Cruise told fans: "I'm so happy to have this show here."

Even Diddy (not pictured) does a double take when Cruise arrives, fists pumping, at the Ziegfeld Theater on 54th Street. Once inside, Cruise turns his charms on Robert De Niro and costar Keri Russell. "It's a lot more fun than trying to be ultra-cool," Russell says of Cruise's enthusiasm.a"He's kind of boyish like that."
And his final mission? "I'm about to get on an airplane right now, and go home," Cruise says, already making plans for his first moments back in California with fiancée Katie Holmes and 2-week-old daughter Suri after two days in New York City. "Loads of kisses," he says. "Oh, oh, oh, oh.aMost definitely."
