Courtney Love Says She Deserves 'a Second Chance'
"I know there is hope for me," says the singer, who's working on her autobiography
Courtney Love is back – and she’s letting loose in a new interview, riffing on everything from facelifts to failed love affairs and fashion.
The 49-year-old, who’s currently writing her autobiography and recording a new album, is featured on the cover of FASHION magazine and admits that while the past few years have been turbulent, she’s hoping Hollywood can forgive her.
“Listen, if [Orange is the New Black star] Natasha Lyonne can burn down a house and Robert [Downey Jr.] can go to prison for two years, I deserve a second chance. I know there is hope for me.”
But that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s ready to play nice or sell out.
“No, no, no,” she says. “There will be no biopic on me. I will never sell my publishing. I won’t let that happen. I still get hit on by guys because they want to be cast in that Kurt Cobain biopic that’s been in production for years. I could give you some [actors’] names that would blow your mind, but I am so not sleeping with someone under 38.”
The Hole rocker says she wrote the song “Wedding Day” on her new album about getting dumped and admits that she toyed with the idea of naming names in her autobiography, but settled on pseudonyms, calling a billionaire she dated “Mr. Cat,” but there’s one topic that she really doesn’t want to talk about.
“Nobody ask me about aging gracefully, pleeease,” she says. “C’mom, I took advice from Goldie Hawn when she said I should get a facelift at 35!”
