Fans have long hoped that the cast of the popular Scream franchise would once again open that door and see what is behind it.
For the couple, the return is a trip down memory lane. “I fell in love with my wife on Scream,” Arquette said. “It’s just going to be really fun.”
Writer Kevin Williamson is also returning, but no word yet whether Wes Craven, who directed the previous three films as well as such classics as A Nightmare on Elm Street, will also sign up.
Williamson said that Neve Campbell, who played the much preyed upon Sidney Prescott in the previous films, has decided not to take part in the venture. But Arquette said, “I hope Neve does it.”
As for the plot, the couple is keeping quiet. “Kevin has sort of put out the broad strokes,” said Arquette, “but I don’t think I’m at liberty to share any of that.”
