Edgar and Nina Otto lost their Labrador retriever, Lancelot, to cancer in 2008, and, unable to imagine life with out him, they cloned him.

Having frozen some of his DNA six years before, the couple spent $155,000 to get a replica of their precious pup.

Lancelot Encore was soon born, and once he was able to leave his mother, he was flown to Miami to meet his new and familiar family. “He came out of the chute and he actually ran to us, so it was amazing,” Nina said on Today. “He looked just like my original Lancelot.”

The Ottos have faced criticism, but promise to get their next dog from a shelter. Tell us what you think on People Pets and take the poll below!
