Coolio Goes to Jail

Grammy Award-winning rapper Coolio pleaded guilty to a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm and was sentenced in Torrance, Calif., to 10 days in jail and 40 hours of community service. Coolio, 35, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., was also placed on two years’ probation. Coolio was driving in Lawndale, Calif., last Sept. 15 when a sheriff’s deputy stopped him for allegedly driving on the wrong side of a street. According to prosecutor Alexis De La Garza, Coolio told the deputy he had a gun hidden in a door pouch, and the deputy seized the pistol.
