Taylor Swift Gets Warm Welcome from Kennedy Family

"She's a great friend of all of ours," says Rory Kennedy, who also reveals how the Kennedy clan first met the singer

Taylor Swift is a self-professed Kennedy fanatic, but apparently the fandom runs both ways.

“She’s awesome,” Rory Kennedy, aunt of the singer’s new beau, Conor Kennedy, said Wednesday at the Television Critics Association summer tour in Beverly Hills. “She’s a great friend of all of ours.”

Rory spoke out at an HBO panel for Ethel, the documentary she directed about the life of her mother, Kennedy matriarch Ethel Kennedy.

The Grammy winner first befriended the Kennedy clan when Rory took her two daughters Georgia, 9, and Bridget, 8, to one of Swift’s concerts.

“Rory went to a concert with her two little girls, and that’s what started it all: her children,” revealed Ethel Kennedy.

And should the budding romance between Swift, 22, and Conor, 18, heat up, would the country star make a good addition to the famous clan?

“We should be so lucky,” said Ethel.
