Comic Wayne Brady, Wife Divorcing

"The split is very amicable," says a rep for the Whose Line is it Anyway? star

Whose Line is it Anyway? star Wayne Brady’s wife, Mandie, has filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

According to documents filed Monday, Brady, 35, and the former Mandie Taketa, 31, married on April 5, 1999, and separated on that day in 2006.

They have a 4-year-old daughter, Maile. In her petition, Mandie requests joint legal and physical custody. She also requests spousal support, but asks that she and Brady pay their own legal fees.

“The split is very amicable and they continue to remain the best of friends and committed parents,” Brady’s rep tells PEOPLE.

Brady joined Whose Line in 1996, and from 2002-2004 hosted his own variety program, The Wayne Brady Show, which snagged four Daytime Emmys. Mandie, a former dancer, became a stay-at-home mom after the birth of Maile, whose name is the Hawaiian word for the leaf found in leis.
