Carson Daly, move over. Colin Powell is coming to MTV. Sometime soon (the date is, as yet, undetermined), the U.S. Secretary of State, 63, will participate in an MTV-sponsored international youth forum on the war on terrorism and other issues, says the Hollywood Reporter. To be the basis of an hour-long special to originate from Washington, the Q & A session will be broadcast on dozens of MTV channels and is expected to reach approximately 374 million households worldwide. Powell will field queries from audience members at MTV facilities in America, India, the Middle East, Italy, the United Kingdom, Brazil and Russia, as well as answer questions submitted via e-mail, MTV Networks said Monday in Pasadena, Calif., during its portion of the winter Television Critics Association press tour. “The world’s youth are not only our future but also our greatest hope for solving long-term problems and for building vitally needed understanding between peoples and cultures,” Powell said in a statement. “I look forward to speaking one-on-one with young people from across the world.”
