Celebrity Colbie Caillat Wants You to 'Take Your Makeup Off' (VIDEO) As Caillat tells her fans, "Don't you like you? 'Cause I like you" By Zakiya Jamal Published on July 11, 2014 10:20 AM Share Tweet Pin Email Get ready to feel empowered, ladies. Colbie Caillat’s new music video for her song “Try” is here, and it will make you feel beautiful just the way you are. Caillat released the lyric video for the single back in June, showing makeup-free selfies of herself and famous friends Miranda Lambert, Sheryl Crow, and Sara Bareilles. Caillat was inspired to write the song after venting to Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and two songwriters about the challenges she’s faced in the industry. “[People in the business] wanted me to dress a little sexier and kind of change the artist that I was,” Caillat told PEOPLE. “[Edmonds and songwriters told me] you don’t have to try to be someone else, because people like who you are.” Caillat took their words to heart, and it’s evident in this video. It begins by showing women from all different ages and backgrounds, including Caillat herself, wearing makeup, wigs, and fake eyelashes. As the video progresses the women remove their makeup, take off their wigs or shake out their hair, and let their natural beauty shine. Caillat, who told PEOPLE her mole on her forehead is always removed in photos, emphasizes the reveal of her mole in the video proudly with a zoomed-in shot of her face. Caillat then ends the video by telling her fans, “Don’t you like you? ‘Cause I like you.” Check out the inspiring video above. Want more stories like this?
