Clinton Meets His Matches

President Clinton took a break Tuesday from his tour of economically-depressed areas to look into the eyes of four of his predecessors on Mt. Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Accompanied by Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle, civil rights leader Jesse Jackson and a host of White House aides, Clinton drove to the historic monument where the faces of former Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln are carved into the side of a mountain. Nobody blinked.
