Anarchist pop band Chumbawamba is holding out an olive branch to the establishment — by offering to play at the forthcoming royal wedding. The music collective, whose singer Danbert Nobacon soaked Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott at last year’s Brit Awards (England’s Grammys), is cheekily tendering its services for Prince Edward and Sophie Rhys-Jones’ big day on June 19, says the British Press Association. Dunstan Bruce from the band told Melody Maker: “We’re writing an aria which we’ll be sending to them and asking them if they want our singer Alice Nutter to perform it at the wedding.”
