As this new video from Funny or Die points out, quite a bit. Desktops have replaced typewriters, and sad desk salads have replaced martini lunches – it’s no wonder that Mad Men‘s Christina Hendricks, playing a fair-use version of her character Joan Holloway, seems so out of place.
But, just like Kristen Bell‘s Mary Poppins, it turns out there’s a message to this mashup.
As Hendricks explains, women today still struggle with a gender pay gap; they make up 70 percent of all minimum-wage workers, but only 15 percent of all Fortune 500 CEOs.
“If we’re going to run our businesses like it’s the 1960s,” she says, “I’m going to act like it.” Boom.
