Chelsea Handler on Dating at 41: 'I Want to Be in Love, but No One Is Knocking at My Door'
The talk show host opens up about dating and relationships
She’s famous, successful and powerful, but even Chelsea Handler admits that dating can be impossible.
“I think my friends are getting to a point where they’re like, ‘We need to get you a boyfriend,’ ” Handler tells PEOPLE with a laugh. “I guess it’s time!”
But it’s not that easy, says the host of Netflix’s Chelsea. “L.A. is weird,” Handler explains. “Everyone is gay or married. I’ve got to wait for a bunch of people to get divorced I guess.”
Jokes aside, the star, who has dated 50 Cent and hotelier Andre Balazs, admits, “I don’t get asked out. No one is knocking at my door. People try to set me up, but the guys that want to date me, I’m not that interested in. And guys I want to date, don’t seem that interested in me.”

The 41-year-old says that any potential partner “will have to be confident and secure and put me in my place.” Adds Handler: “But I don’t have any parameters about who I date. I’m open.”
Still, the uber successful television personality by no means requires a man to be happy. “Of course I want to be in love,” says Handler. “I want a boyfriend. But so many of my dreams have come true [already]. So I’m cool with anything else this lifetime. Because I really hit the jackpot.”
