Chelsea Handler Focuses on New Netflix Series, Not Bad Dates: 'I Haven't Dated for a Year, and I Am So Happy'
"I have had so many bad dates, I can not tell you which one was the worst," she tells PEOPLE
Chelsea Handler is sick of suffering through bad dates. So sick, in fact, that she hasn’t dated in a year – and she couldn’t be happier.
“Dating has lost its allure for me,” the comedian, 40, told PEOPLE on Saturday during the Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic gala at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Florida.
“I have had so many bad dates, I can not tell you which one was the worst,” she said.
So the former host of E!’s Chelsea Lately, who is busy preparing for both a four-part documentary series and talk show airing on Netflix in 2016, is taking a hiatus from dating.

“I haven’t dated for a year, and I am so happy,” Handler said. “I can not tell you how much fun I am having just doing my own thing.”
“All the men I dated seemed to be the same and none of them have it,” she said.
Other things are exciting her right now: Chelsea Does premieres in January, followed by her new talk show in the spring.
“What I am doing for Netflix is vastly different from what I did on E!, and I am very happy with my work,” said Handler (who also plays a mean game of tennis).
“I am using my brain and working with great directors and producers. I am not being outrageous,” she said. “I am going to give viewers a younger, cooler 60 Minutes.”
